CRANE LAKE, ALTA.
All the fur is trapped here in North Eastern, Alberta.
THE LAKELAND REGION, ALBERTA
On our trap line we harvest a variety of furs; coyote, wolf, fisher, beaver, and lynx. Most of our products are made out of beaver fur because of its abundance in the Lakeland, the durability of this material also makes it one of our favorites. And you can’t beat the soft feel of a sheared beaver, it really is amazing! We want to share with you the beauty of these furs.
OUR HISTORY
5 Cent Hats – We are a family of four, Matt and Sheri and our two daughters Madeleine and Mya. We both grew up in small town Manitoba and have been in Alberta for almost 20 years. Shortly after moving to the Bonnyville area, Matt befriended an old trapper. It was important to this old fellow that a new generation continue the traditions that his family had enjoyed for generations. Matt trapped as a junior partner on his two trap lines for several years before getting the opportunity to lease a trap line of our own. We have been working on this line for over 10 years now. Trapping is a fine balance between timing and conservation. It takes years of experience and care to get a feel for what works on the line and where improvements can be made. Trapping has been a wonderful opportunity for our family.
